In order to make room for more new goodies, I've decided to clear out my entire purse and headband sections. So, I've drastically lowered the prices by over 30% off! Check out my shop for some awesome deals!

Since my last entry, which was almost three months ago(!), I've added some completely new items to the shop. I'd like to introduce some fun and affordable goodies, that are perfect to give as gifts this holiday season - vintage button rings, tea bag wallets and passport covers. All are priced under $15! I'm working on a few other new items, but that's a surprise for now. ;)

In other news, I'm now a member of the spankin' brand new Street Team, Crafting in Color. Every member's goal is "to keep Etsy bright and colorful, and show that bright colors are not just for summer!" If you're interested in joining, please contact Tizzalicious or see this blog entry for more info.

It's hard to believe that Halloween is less than two weeks away, Thanksgiving is next month and Christmas is the month after! This year has just flown by!!! For Halloween, I'm going to make some delicious whoopie pies from a recipe I found in my latest issue of Everyday Food. I'm also going to see Nights in Rodanthe with my mom. We've both read the book, so we're excited to see the film. The rating on IMDb is pretty low, but I'm still anxious to see it! No plans yet for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but I'm sure I'll be spending the days with my parents and grammy, which is always a lot of fun!!

Oh, I'm going to a concert in December. I'm going to see Sarah Brightman! I've been to all of her world tours, this one will make four, and every one is better and better. In the last tour, there were fireworks and bursts of confetti. I had a marvelous time and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her again!

I'm off to bed.......it's almost midnight!

Front Page + Birthday

I was looking at my views, courtesy of Majaba, and saw HUGE jumps in the number of views, so my first thought was, "Could it be, am I on the front page?" Boy, was I excited to see my purse there!

In other news, Saturday, July 26 is my 25th birthday. I'm going to spend the day in Old Towne Orange hunting down some Pyrex. The area was featured in the 1996 Tom Hanks movie, That Thing You Do! Later, I'm going out to dinner with my parents, sister, brother, Grammy and aunt. We're going to have Chinese food. For dessert, I'm having an ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins. It's going to have Nutty Coconut ice cream (coconut ice cream with roasted almonds, buttered pecans and walnut pieces) with a vanilla cake. The entire cake is going to look like a slice of watermelon, which is going to be really cute! I can't wait!!

Well, it's getting late and I have a busy day ahead of me. Goodnight!

The wonderful dkjewels.etsy.com added my Peas in a Pod Zipper Pouch to her colorful and delicious Treasury. She's so sweet! Thank you, Krystle! ♥

Also included in this awesome list is
buggabugs.etsy.com! She has such yummy felt food patterns for sale! OMG, I'm drooling over all of the goodies! It was tough to decide (because everything is so cute!), but I think my favorite one is her ice cream set pattern, which includes instructions on how to make an ice cream cone, soft serve ice cream, a scoop of strawberry ice cream, a Neapolitan ice cream sandwich and an orange creamsicle - yum! Be sure to check out her shop! :D

Feature Swap with Victoriasart

Victoria of Victoriasart.etsy.com and I both admire each other's work so much that we've decided to feature the other's shop in our own blog.

I first came across Victoria's shop the other night while chatting in one of the Etsy chat rooms. I was immediately blown away by her artistic talents! Her creations are vibrant and full of life. I had to do a double-take with many of her paintings, as they look like actual photos! For instance, her Patterned Pillows painting is so inviting, you just want to lay down with all of those bright and comfy pillows!

Victoria is a very talented artist and has been since she was a small child. She's a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Fine Art and Graphic Design. She says painting helps her relax at the end of the day and keeps her mind busy with creative thoughts of colors, subjects and shapes. She's partial to watercolors, because it's spontaneous, fast and contained, however, it's also suited for tiny details.

Be sure to explore Victoria's Etsy shop for more beautiful watercolor paintings, ACEOs, prints and stationary!

In my last entry, I said I was going to go to bed. But, I just remembered about this awesome giveaway at ScribbleIt's blog that everyone should go and enter. Two lucky winners have the chance to win a beautiful black chandelier wall decal for free! Also be sure to check out her Etsy shop - they're sooooo many gorgeous wall decals to choose from! :)

Okay, now I'm going to bed!

SALE + Watermelon Pouch + Hair Cut

Gosh, how did almost two months just fly by since my last entry?

Let's see, I've posted a bunch more new goodies in my Etsy shop and I'm having a HUGE sale! To get the most item exposure, my goal is to have just 1 or 2 pages in my shop. Right now, I have 4. So, I thought the best way to achieve this would be to slash my prices. I've marked down just about all of my handmade items (headbands, zipper pouches, purses, pillowcases, upcycled vintage record journals and more!). Head on over to my shop and take a look. For easy buying, all of the prices have already been changed.

In honor of it almost being summer (my favorite season!) I made this watermelon zipper pouch. It's my original design that I created with loving care. While making the pouch, I was reminded of all of the wonderful summer days I spent with my family in the backyard. There's 16 "seeds"/buttons that were hand sewn on. I also used interfacing to give the bag more body and durability. Sport this super cute pouch at a BBQ, amusement park, etc.

In other news, I recently chopped off more than a foot of my hair! I donated my ponytail to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. Pantene Pro-V partnered with the Entertainment Industry Foundation and they encourage people to grow, cut and donate their hair to create free, real-hair wigs for women who've lost their hair due to cancer. I'm very happy I was able to make a donation and I'm loving my new cut! Here's a before and after shot:

Well, it's late, I better get to bed. Goodnight! ^__^

Creative & Thrifty Organization Solutions

I'd like to give a big thank you to Jaime of thosegreathousewomen.etsy.com for interviewing me and including my creative and thrifty organization solution in her blog. I shared how to make my upcycle pencil holders and why they're so terrific for your workspace and the environment. Check it out here! :) If you'd like, you too can also submit your idea to Jaime, as she's looking to include solutions every week in her blog.
